Membership

The charter is open to companies and individuals working in ceramics, and to those with a serious interest in the craft.

Full member

Vietnamese citizens and organisations working in fields related to ceramics or in the association's fields of activity, who meet the standard, accept the charter and join voluntarily.

Associate member

Citizens and organisations with an interest in ceramics who do not yet meet the standard for full membership, accept the charter and apply voluntarily.

Honorary member

Individuals, organisations and specialists with knowledge of the association's field, of good standing, who have contributed materially to its work and are invited to join.

Associate and honorary members hold the same rights and obligations as full members, except the right to vote on association matters and the right to stand for, nominate to, or elect the executive and inspection boards.

Standard for full membership

  • Vietnamese citizens living, studying or working in Ho Chi Minh City; or organisations established under Vietnamese law and operating in Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Members who registered as founders of the association are full members as of right.

Rights of members

  • Protection of lawful rights and interests by the association.
  • Access to information in the association's field and participation in its activities.
  • A voice in discussing and deciding the association's programme, and the ability to petition competent authorities on related matters.
  • Attendance at the congress, and the right to stand for, nominate to and elect the association's governing bodies and inspection board.
  • Introducing new members, receiving awards, and holding a membership card.
  • Leaving the association when continued membership is no longer appropriate.

Obligations of members

  • Comply with the law, the charter and the association's rules.
  • Take part in the association's work; cooperate with fellow members.
  • Protect the association's standing, and not act in its name in any transaction without written authorisation from its leadership.
  • Meet reporting requirements set by the association.
  • Pay membership fees in full and on time.

How to apply

Citizens and organisations meeting the standard submit an application to join. The executive board reviews the application and decides on admission.

Leaving the association

A member wishing to leave submits a request to the executive board. Membership is withdrawn by decision of the executive board in the following cases:

  • Acting against the association's stated purpose, damaging its standing or its finances.
  • Breaching the law, the charter or the association's rules.
  • Being an organisation that is suspended, dissolved or declared bankrupt.
  • Failing to pay fees for six months, or not taking part for six consecutive months, without good reason.
  • Being inactive for more than twelve months without reporting or good reason.
